Breaking radio silence on Foundra sequel and other updates

I wanted to give a quick update since I've been somewhat radio silent on the work related to my next Foundra novel. I'm currently working through the 2nd draft with plans to engage an editor at some point in the next few months. I have no intentions of rushing this thing, but progress has been slower than normal due to welcoming a new life into the world. I've been spending some quality time with my son and enjoying fatherhood.

This novel is shaping up to be an emotional roller coaster. You have been forewarned! I’ve learned a lot as a writer in the past few years since I first published Foundra: The Rift War. I’ve learned that by challenging myself to write in genres I’m unfamiliar with, I grow as a writer. I’ve spent some time doing this with other ideas I’ve had that have become unpublished novels or short stories. This is truly one of the joys of being a writer and loving the craft!

I also wanted to take a moment to share where I intend to take the Foundra Universe. Many authors indicate whether they are writing trilogies, etc. and I haven't spoken about this at all with the Foundra Series.

The Foundra Series itself will be a three-part trilogy that establishes the universe and dominant characters. After the trilogy is complete, there will be multiple subsequent named trilogies and solo novels that both explore new characters, past history and that progress the main story-line of the universe forward to it’s ultimate conclusion. This universal storyline is something unique and independent of individual characters. I don’t want to say any more here to avoid spoilers.

I'm excited for the future and want to get working on the next novels in the Universe as soon as possible. For now, I'm focused on getting the second Foundra novel squared away and publishable by the end of the year. In addition to the Foundra Universe, I have another series in the works, a sci-fi fantasy horror universe. The debut novel for this series will surface at some point next year.
